You have your wedding date set and want to send save the date cards. This particular announcement will be your initial view into the world of wedding stationery, so here’s a few tips on what to include.
Do I have to send Save the Dates?
Nope. But they are recommended for a few reasons:
- Your friends and family will appreciate the heads-up especially if they have to organise time off work, travel arrangements or sitters for the little ones.
- You’re more likely to have first dibs on guests who know other couples getting married on the same day.
- They’re a great way to get everyone excited about your wedding – and to get your own creativity flowing early in the planning process
What details should I include on Save the Date cards?
The most important thing to include on your save the date cards is the date (obvious I know), but what else?
- The date
- Your names
- The location
- Accommodation and Travel details. If your wedding is a destination wedding or your wedding is held during a busy time in that location (best to check) it’s best to give them accommodation options so that places don’t book out.
